If you do nothing, Essentials continues at $12.99 a month, plus tax. Renews automatically every month until you cancel. Cancel anytime in your phone's store settings. Choosing Plus or Premium during the trial ends the trial and starts that plan.
How to cancel
You cancel in the store you bought from. The Plan screen on the You tab takes you straight there.

Is there a free version?
There is no free plan. Essentials starts with a 3-day free trial, so you can try it all first. Renews automatically every month until you cancel. Cancel anytime in your phone's store settings. Some things never need a plan: the crisis tools, your count, your calendar, your Time Capsules and your data stay open to you either way.
Which plan should I start with?

Is the mentor a therapist?
No. Your mentor is a space to talk things out, any hour: it listens and helps you reflect, and it doesn't give advice. Every mentor screen says so: “I'm an AI, not a therapist or counselor, and this isn't medical advice or treatment. It's not a substitute for clinical care.”
Can anyone at Free and Sober see what I do?
No one at Free and Sober reads your conversations with your mentor, and you choose what each person in your corner sees. We can still see the details the service needs, such as your email address, your dates and counts, and when things happen, as our Privacy Policy lists.
When can I get it?
Coming soon to the App Store and Google Play.
How does billing work?
You buy and manage your plan through the App Store or Google Play, so Apple or Google charges you and sends your receipts. We never see your card number. Plans renew each month until you cancel.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds come from Apple or Google, under their own policies. On iPhone, go to reportaproblem.apple.com and choose Request a refund. On Android, open your Google Play order history and choose Request a refund. If Google asks you to contact us, write to support@freeandsober.com.
Can I switch plans?
Yes, any time, from the Plan screen on the You tab or in your store's subscription settings. Moving up usually starts right away. Moving down usually starts at your next renewal. Your store shows the exact timing and any credit before you confirm.
Is there a family plan?
Each plan is for one person.
What happens to my minutes if I cancel?
Minutes you bought never expire. They stay in your account for when you come back. The monthly minutes that come with Plus or Premium reset each month and do not carry over.
What if I run out of minutes on a hard night?
A craving or crisis conversation never uses voice minutes, and the mentor's crisis response is never capped. At zero, it carries on in messages, read aloud by your phone's own voice. And 988 is always one tap away, to call or text.
Does deleting the app cancel my plan?
No. Deleting the app, or your Free and Sober account, does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it in the App Store or Google Play.
Are there ads?
No ads and no trackers, ever. Your health information is never sold and never used for advertising.
