Sobriety calculator and sober counter
Enter your sober date to calculate sobriety in days, weeks, months and years, plus the next milestone coming up. It works for any substance or habit. No sign-up, and nothing you type leaves this page.

Your sober day count starts on your sobriety date, the first full day you stayed sober. The calculator counts every day from then until today, and also shows the total as weeks, months and years so you can see the bigger picture. If you slipped and started again, use your new date. Every day counts, and every step of recovery matters.
Many people mark 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days, 60 days, 90 days, 6 months, 9 months, 1 year, 18 months and every year after that. Recovery groups often hand out chips or keytags at these points. The calculator shows which milestone you've reached and how many days until the next one.
A sobriety calculator works out your time from a date you enter. A sobriety counter, or sober counter, does the same math every day so the number grows on its own. Both count the same way: day one is your first full day sober, and every calendar day after it adds one. Weeks are whole 7-day blocks, and months and years follow the calendar, so a year sober lands on the same date a year later.
Counting is a tool, not a test. Some people check their number every morning; some only look on milestone days. If a slip happens, many people pick a new date, and what they learned still counts. Read why counting days helps, and how to handle a reset, what to expect in the first 30 days sober, or how a sober app can keep the count for you.
A calculator answers the question once. A sober counter answers it every morning. The Free and Sober™ app keeps your sobriety counter running for you, celebrates each milestone, and gives you an AI mentor to talk it out with any hour of the day or night. Add the people in your corner, write a Time Capsule message to your future self, and get support for every step of recovery, whatever substance or habit you're leaving behind.
